This impressive country house boasts a wealth of character features including a beautiful, wide oak staircase and lovely fireplace and is set in spacious, well kept grounds. Get a group together and cycle or walk the numerous paths locally, or host a family gathering or reunion - the property sleeps 13. Brecon is just 4 miles away and village of Felin Fach with the famed Felin Fach Griffin Inn is within a mile. With over 10 acres of gardens to explore, all with spectacular views - Lower Argoed offers a perfect family retreat.

Superb accommodation

Lower Argoed is a large, comfortable house and the welcoming farmhouse kitchen reflects this. With fitted pine units, cooker, hob, microwave and table and chairs it is spacious enough to accommodate the family whilst the large walk-through utility room houses a dishwasher, a second oven and a fridge/freezer to make catering on a bigger scale easy. In addition the utility room has a washing machine. Also off the kitchen is a large and sunny conservatory furnished with a long dining table and chairs - a lovely spot for breakfast. There is also a smaller dining room with table and chairs. The large sitting room has a lovely open fire, big squashy sofas and a 32 inch TV with DVD player and Sky. The second sitting room houses a sofa and chairs, a second TV with Sky and a large selection of books. There is also a downstairs shower room with toilet, handbasin and shower and another separate cloakroom with toilet and handbasin.

Up the wonderful, wide oak staircase to the first floor which houses 3 bedrooms. The first is a generous family room with a double and a single bed. This room has an ensuite with bath, toilet and handbasin. The second bedroom is also a family room with a double, two single beds and a cot. Bedroom 3 is a single room.
Up a further flight of stairs to the attic and 3 further bedrooms. Bedrooms 4 and 5 are twin rooms and bedroom 6 is a single. There is also a family bathroom with bath, handbasin and toilet on this floor.

The property even has its own flagpole rescued from an old ship.

    Located just 4 miles from Brecon, Lower Argoed is excellently placed to offer a huge number of outdoor activities all based locally. Walk straight from the house onto the glorious Brecon Beacons. There is also fantastic cycling with many largely traffic-free roads, paths and canal towpaths. Pony trekking, clay pigeon shooting, fishing and more advanced riding can all be arranged locally. For those looking for a quieter stay there are numerous shops in Brecon as well as a cinema and some great pubs and restaurants.
